Performing Arts
Firth Park is a Specialist Performing Arts school and thus all students
study Music, Drama and Dance in Key Stage three. In the Year 10 they can opt
for further studies in BTECs and GCSEs and many students further their studies
in the Arts at the end of Year 11. The school offers a rich and varied
enrichment programme in the Arts and students can take part in classes at
lunchtime and after school. Clubs include Dance, Bands, Instrumental Lessons,
Drama groups, Glee and Community Theatre.

A variety of professionals visit the school to run workshops and the Sound
System programme runs for the very able students in Music. Students are
encouraged to perform on a regular basis both in the classroom and after school
and there are a variety of showcase events throughout the year and an annual
school production. Students are encouraged to visit other schools and venues to
take part in workshops and watch performances, and Arts Award students and
Dance Leaders run workshops in the community for primary and Firth Park
students.
